Ondo terror attack.

Over fifty (50) persons are reportedly killed in an attack on St. Francis Catholic Church in Owo, headquarters of Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State.

It was also reported that passersby were hit by stray bullets.

Witnesses, however, said the attack occurred during the church’s Sunday service.

The witnesses said the attackers stormed during the church service and shot sporadically.

It was learned that the attackers came in with explosives.

Both the injured and the dead were rushed to the Federal Medical Centre Owo, for medical attention.

The Chief Medical Director (CMD) of FMC, Owo, Dr. Liasu Adeagbo, said medical personnels are deployed to cater to the injured persons.

According to him, it was still too early to speak on the issue.

Spoke on the condition of anonymity, a nurse at Owo said there was not enough medical personnel on the ground to attend to the victims at the emergency unit of the hospital.

She said many of the victims are on admission to a private hospital.
